PHILIPSBURG-The Police are set to destroy several impounded scooters after owners failed to collect their vehicles. The scooters, seized in recent months for technical issues and lack of legal documentation, remain unclaimed despite repeated notifications to the owners.
These scooters were impounded during traffic enforcement actions aimed at improving road safety. Many of the vehicles were found to be mechanically unsafe or lacked proper documentation, such as licenses and registrations, required for legal operation.
After multiple attempts to contact the owners, most have not responded. In consultation with the Prosecutor’s Office, KPSM will now proceed with the destruction of the unclaimed scooters to remove unsafe and illegal vehicles from the streets.
Owners who still wish to claim their scooters must present the necessary documentation at the Philipsburg police station. Otherwise, the vehicles will be destroyed as planned.
KPSM remains committed to enforcing traffic laws and ensuring that only safe and legally compliant vehicles are on the road.
