NASSAU-The Miami Heat have officially announced that they will hold their training camp in the Bahamas this year, marking the fourth time in franchise history for their preseason preparations. The training camp will be at Baha Mar’s Convention Center from Tuesday, October 1, through Saturday, October 5.
This will be the second time in three years that the Heat held there training camp using facilities at Baha Mar for their training camp the first was back in 2022. According to a press release from the Heat, the facility includes top-notch basketball courts, elevated seating experiences for spectators, and advanced technology for film and broadcast training, ensuring that players have all the resources they need to prepare for the upcoming season.
Heat coach Erik Spoelstra praised the Heat’s previous training camps in The Bahamas, noting: “We spent so much time together and really tried to get to know each other. We spent a lot of time on the court but we spend a lot of time off the court. That’s why I love going away. It gives you a little bit of a start on that” he said according to the South Florida Sun Sentimental.
The Heat have a history of holding training camps in the Bahamas, previously doing so before the 2013-14 season, which marked the end of the iconic “Big 3” era, as well as before the 2016-17 season.
As the franchise prepares to start on its next chapter, the training camp in the Bahamas is sure to set the tone for there season for the Miami Heat. Their first regular season game is slated for October 23 against the Orlando Magic.
