GEORGETOWN (NewsSource)-Guyana’s Ministry of Human Services has discovered a number of unauthorized copies of old age pension books and disability voucher books.
The discovery was made after the vouchers were submitted for encashment at a number of post offices and other payment centres.
The Ministry said the unauthorized books do not bear the security features or colors of the official books, and the Police have been called in to investigate the matter.
The Ministry said the full investigation will be conducted by the Police and it has handed over all of the documents and materials in its possession with the unauthorized books to the Police.
Staff members at post offices and other payment places are being asked to be on high alert for the unauthorized books.
