THE VALLEY-A team of investigators from the British Virgin Islands have arrived in Anguilla to help with a probe into the police involved shooting of 19-year-old Shane Flemming.

The Royal Anguilla Police Force (RAPF) said the two police officers will remain on island for several days and they have already visited the scene of the incident and will continue their independent review.

Flemming was shot on 7 July at the White Hill Island Supermarket on the eastern end of the island.

RAPF reported Flemming was allegedly in the process of robbing the supermarket when he was confronted by officers, who were responding to an unrelated matter.

Police said an unlicensed firearm was recovered from the supermarket.

RAPF said they are committed to transparency in the investigation into the shooting of Flemming.

“A dedicated team of investigators continues to meticulously examine the events surrounding the incident that took place at White Hill Island Supermarket on the eastern end of the island,” RAPF said in a statement. “RAPF remains dedicated to transparency, public confidence, and maintaining trust in all our investigative processes. We appreciate the public’s continued cooperation and patience as this investigation moves forward.”
