PHILIPSBURG-All men ages 40 and older are being encouraged to take advantage of the free prostate cancer screenings that will be conducted in the month of September; Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.
This initiative is as a result of collaboration between the Positive Foundation, Elektralytes Foundation, NAPA SXM, SLS – St. Maarten Laboratory Services, SZV Social & Health Insurances and the St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC).
Screenings will take place on Saturday, September 7th and Saturday, September 14th at Napa Auto Parts in Philipsburg or Cole Bay.
Test results will be given on Saturday, September 21st between 9:00am and 2:30pm at SMMC during its annual Men’s Health Day. Attendees will also have the opportunity to speak with urologists about their results and be examined further if necessary. Nurses will also be on hand to provide free blood pressure and sugar testing. The St. Maarten AIDS Foundation will provide free HIV testing.
