ST. GEORGE’S-Changes are coming to Grenada’s opposition bench in the Upper House of Parliament after two Senators have decided not to continue in their positions.
A statement from His Majesty’s Opposition Leader’s Office said Senators Neilon Franklyn and Katisha Douglas have expressed their intention not to continue in this role from October 1, 2024.
New National Party (NNP) leader and Opposition leader, Dr Keith Mitchell has expressed appreciation for their service to the Upper House.
According to the statement, as the appointments of both senators expire on September 30, Dr Mitchell will make two new appointments effective October 1, 2024.
Dr Micthell is quoted as stating these appointments will be part of the ongoing process to reorganize the party, to prepare for the upcoming General Election and for the opportunities ahead to lead Grenada into the future.
